251. Blank Page

Teaser: In which Isabella tries to describe the tyranny of the blank page, but doesn't quite get her point across.

WELL INTERIOR Captain, Isabella, Lizzy

[FRAME 1]

Lizzy: So writin' jus' means you thinks up somethin' like a listen' door an' some other poor bloke gots t'make it? Sounds easy.

Isabella: It's harder than it sounds. Even just getting a chance is hard, there aren't many writing jobs.

[FRAME 2]

Lizzy: Well sure, y'can't 'ave a big crowd o' layabouts layin' about an' thinkin' up stuff what other people 'as to do. S'a classic social pyramid.

Isabella: It's not easy! It's the hardest thing in the world!

[FRAME 3]

Lizzy: What, dreamin' stuff up an' not doin' it? I does that m'self e'ryday.

Isabella: You can't just write any old thing. You start with a blank page and have to fill it with drama and emotion and the tragedy of the human condition. You have to cut out part of yourself and put it on the page.

[FRAME 4]

Lizzy: So yer listenin' door is more'n just a door, s'like one o' them metal fours?

Isabella: *sigh* No, I just thought it would be cool.
