442. Divine Intervention
Teaser: In which the Priest explains the economics of divine intervention, and the Ranger makes a suggestion.
CHURCH INTERIOR Captain, Ranger, Priest
[FRAME 1]
Captain: An orphanage isn't supposed to make money! And neither is a church! It's charity!
Priest: I'm gonna explain how this all works because you seem to have some weird ideas.
[FRAME 2]
Priest: We're in the business of appeasing the gods, and it isn't cheap. We need a steady stream of sacrifices and offerings that come from far away.
Priest: We charge for divine intervention because if we don't keep the gods happy, there won't be any divine intervention.
[FRAME 3]
Ranger: Look, Don's house is worth far more than four GP. An enterprising businessman like yourself should be able to find a way to make money off it.
Captain: Right! For example, the Ranger here turned the abandoned house into a boarding house.
[FRAME 4]
Priest: And has he made any money from it?
Ranger: It's still early days!
